Mubarak Resigns-Mubarak Stepping Down Puts Egypt Military In Charge (Video) | America's Breaking Local And World News

AmericasNewsNow.com | Breaking News-Mubarak Resigns-Mubarak Stepping Down Puts Egypt Military In Charge. The Egypt revolution of 2011 is ecstatic after the recent announcement by President Hosni Mubarak that he will step down as president. Just yesterday, Mubarak announced changes that would take place but that he would remain in power and die in Egypt’s soil.

Mubarak stepping down is a direct result of the perseverance of the Egyptian citizens. After Mubarak’s announcement yesterday to remain in power, Egyptians could have returned to their homes defeated or turned to looting and rioting. Instead, the Egyptian protestors remained steadfast in their resolve to get Mubarak out of office as peaceably as possible.

Mubarak’s resignation creates a bit of dilemma for the U.S. and Israel. While Mubarak may have been a dictator, at least he was a dictator the U.S. could count on. Mubarak also respected the Egyptian treaty with Israel. With him gone, there is now a power vacuum which could be filled by Islamic radicals like the  Muslim brotherhood.

What do you think of Mubarak’s resignation? While Egyptians certainly like the move, how will it affect he U.S. and Israel going forward? Leave your comments about Mubarak stepping down in the comments below.
