Owens reportedly signed a one year deal with the Bengals for $2 million, with another $2 million available in bonuses.
As if Ochocinco wasn’t a big enough sideshow, can you wait to see what these two have planned for us on the sideline? As long as the Bengals are winning and these guys are getting the ball, it shouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, the Bengals were most successful last year running the ball, not passing it. Remember Benson Ball?
The Bengals went undefeated in their division in part due to their tough defense, but also their ball-control run game which pounded opponents.
Marvin Lewis will certainly have his plate full trying to keep all his superstars happy. And Carson Palmer? I feel for the guy. I’m predicting either a .500 season at best or the Bengals make it to the AFC championship game. If the Bengal make it that far, I say TO and Chad have a blow-out during the game that kisses the Bengals championship hopes good bye. I mean, can you really expect these two character to behave for 16 weeks and one of them Not throw a tantrum?
I don’t know about you, but I’m more excited about seeing TO and Ochocinco’s off the field antics. I’ve already seen their on the field skills. Sure they can go up and bring one down once in awhile. But most of the time there’s a whole lot of finger pointing and blaming going on if the ball isn’t right to them. And Chad? I’ve already seen enough balls bounce off his pads to last a few seasons. Am I wrong?
So what do you think about TO being added to the Bengals Mix? Will Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer be able to reign in the huge egos? Or is this a football team destined for a train wreck? I’d love for you to leave your comments below.
