The president of the UFC, Dana White, sits down with mma reporter Ariel Helwani to announce the deal of buying Strikeforce. The UFC buying Strikeforce is no surprise to mixed martial arts fans. The UFC and Zuffa Productions have made a habit of buying out its competition. White stated the he and Scott Coker, owner of Strikeforce, have been friends for a while and that the acquisition was friendly. White also stated that Strikeforce has a relationship with Showtime and that they will keep running business as usual.
Asking White about the UFC purchase of Strikeforce, Helwani pressed him for a purchase amount. White refused to answer. Helwani then asked if the Strikeforce deal was bigger than the Pride purchase. White simply stated that they Pride purchase was a big deal. Helwani asked if different Strikeforce players or employees would be losing their job and White assured him that business will remain as usual.
